There was fresh snow from the plowed Glencliff lot. Started at about 3-4 inches and got up to about 8 near Carriage Rd junction. One in front of us broke out the Glencliff Trail and we widend and packed it up to the Carriage Rd. The Carriage Rd was very drifted in with very cool, wind carved snow sculptures. Had to go over and through some but they were neat to see. Two skiers and we 4 (2 more going up later) have left a pretty good trail.
With the weather forecast microspikes may be the traction of choice in a couple of days but snowshoes were needed today. Summit is ice/boilerplate and with todays conditions there were no views. No trail maintenance issues. Karen's 40th and Kurt and Jeff got #1. I just got a great redo of my 2/28 hike.
