Moriah via Carter Moriah Trail from Bangor Road. The trails are in fine shape, with no visitors since last weekend, until today. 1-2" of new snow with a fine crust and then a dusting on top of that. I wore my snowshoes from the car to the summit and back to the hardwoods (below the lowest slab) and bare-booted the rest of the way. Round-trip time was about 5 hours (trails are in fine shape. Did I mention the trails are fast right now?)

For a day that couldn't make up its mind on weather, it turned out spectacular. Franconia Notch had a cloud or two, as did a few other peaks, but the Presidential Range was wide open, save for a beauty of a lenticular cloud. I was not expecting such beautiful views today, but was delighted to have them.

Nice! As somehow who believes that the views from Moriah are just a myth, thanks to only hiking that mountain in the rain, I loved these pictures. It's fun to see the Prezzies from a slightly different angle than the rest of the Carter Range.
