Sherp,

I'l lprobably see ou at Hikers Paradise on Friday night.

I am doing Tom-Field and Willey on Friday and hope to do the Wildcats on Sat.

Wanna have dinner on Friday?
cb

I wanta have dinner with you guys

Hey ChrisB and Sherpa,

I'll be in the Whites Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Where you having dinner on Friday night?

donna

I won't get up there until quite late, so Friday dinner is out for me. I could be coaxed into the Wildcats on Saturday. What route? I'd like to ski up and back down. Otherwise I'll likely head to Carter Dome. (BTW, I need all 3 for my winter list. Doubt I have it in me to do them all in one day though)

But... We shouldn't be hijacking this thread!!! SkiMom and Arm rule!!!

Arm - sorry you couldn't make the RPP. There was a 30 minute wait - so we didn't get seated to a little after 9. Good food, but we were too beat to fully enjoy it.

We were hoping you didn't have any troubles gettign out of the parking lot - at least they didn't plow anybody in!

Congrats on your Winter 48!

Thanks to Arm for taking this group shot on the summit which we just added to our trip report.

Congratulations to Skimom and Arm

This hike was a blast! A big special thanks to Swampyankee for that awesome bushwhack...I truely put my life in your hands...you did good boy!

Everyone worked hard with breaking trail...I love that team spirit....really good group of hiking friends. If the roads weren't so slick I would have joined the group for a little after hike celebration.

Skimom and Arm, way to go! A really fun time was had by all.

Congratulations, I look forward to way more hikes like this one.

Adding my congratulations to SkiMom and Arm! Way to go!!!!

I hope you'll be able to join me when I finish my 48. . . . another 60 years or so and I should be almost done! :D
I'd say I'm in, but that would make me exactly 101 years old to the day. I'm loving the tradition of hiking with VFTT'ers on my birthday, but that may be pushing it....

I was really looking forward to having another snail along.
Well, as the purple trail snail of VFTT (avatar and all), I did give it a go, but have the dubious distinction of being the first to bail.

Actually, we stood and watched one of those big double bladed plows sock in one truck! We all did make it out just fine. I'm still impressed with what Arm can do with a Toyota!

Thanks to all for the fun weekend. It was awesome! I was glad I could be there for the making it count celebration in the parking lot, even if I missed out on the summit! As Bob said "You guys rule"!!!!!

Congrats

Congratulations to Skimom and Arm!
This hike was awesome! It was a tough and exhausting hike, but well worth the adventure and the company. Thanks to everyone who shared in the trail breaking. Special thanks to everyone who helped get me out of that lot at the end of the hike!

Arm and Skimom:
Congratulations on terrific accomplishments! And on a particularly tough day that will remain emblazoned on your memory even more if that's possible. So nice to do it with such a great group of supportive hiking friends too. All in all sounds pretty perfect to me.

Well done!

Congratulations to Skimom and ARM for completing their lists in grand style! Certainly, Carrigain proved to be one of the 2 or 3 most difficult hikes that I've been on. It was great to share the day with so many new faces, many of whom are regular VFTT posters. Believe MEB was the only person I'd hiked with before Carrigain.

FWIW, I was so discouraged with the comedy of errors on the skis, that I ended up staying up there and putting some more miles on the skis on Sunday as well as today.

At any rate, hope our paths cross again on the trail sometime!

Way to go SkiMom & Arm - what a way to finish!! We went to Carrigan on Sunday, so we really want to thank you and group for breaking out the trail - that was huge, we owe all of you one!!!!

Awesome!

Congratulations on a wonderful achievement! That looks like it was a heck of a hike; I know the trailbreaking we went through in Baxter, and we were only on level ground.

Now I have to hope for warm weather so I don't have to pay up for missing (ski the black diamonds at Wachusett) until next winter. ;)

You really cruised through the list, Skimom ... what's next? You, too, Arm ... winter NEHH?

that was definitely the most challenging hike of the 48 and I couldn't have picked a better group to hike with

thanks to everyone for all the trailbreaking and unending spirit to get to the summit despite the conditions .... this is the hike that when it's done you say, wow, we really worked hard for that and it was worth it ... for me, it was another bonding experience, and another hike where I look around me and see the smiling faces of those that support my efforts and encourage me onward

it truly was a team effort and I feel so fortunate to have found a group of friends that don't think I'm soft in the head for doing this kind of stuff

I had a wonderful day and I hope everyone else did too

I'm sorry not to have made it to the RPP, it would have made a super end to an unbelievable day

I need to thank SherpaJohn for the copy of "48" which took a great amount of time and effort and it really shows, I enjoyed it very much.... yes, to the point of getting a little teary

Also, special thanks to Arm for the patch and certificate... and to Cath Goodwin for the note and bag of Snickers left for me at the top ... and to Peri for the champagne that she had waiting for me when I returned to the parking lot

I am so proud and lucky to have made the summit that day and I have all of you to thank for it ..... I couldn't have done it without you (literally!)

I'm thinking I may write up my 6 month adventure to complete the list, which BTW I never had any desire to do, but the more I hiked and the more great people I met, the more "the list" grew on me ..... now it's on to other lists

I hope that I will have the opportunity to hike with everyone again soon, possibly under less-adventurous conditions, but that wouldn't be any fun I guess, would it ?

what a day .... you guys are the best ... thank you so much for all your support and encouragement, and for one of the most memorable hikes I will ever have
