The goal today was to get above treeline as quickly as possible....and stay there. Caps Ridge Trail to The Cornice to the Gulfside Trail. Then to Mt Clay and Mt Washington summits. Returned on Gulfside to the summit of Mt Jefferson. Back down Caps Ridge. Not great conditions for photography, but absolutely perfect conditions for hiking ... temps in upper 40s, winds in upper teens, low humidity, no bugs, dry trails.

Photo taken from one of my favorite spots in the White Mountains.

Monticello Lawn seems so out of place. Very cool area.

The top rock of this cairn almost seemed to be a mirror image of the summit area of Mt Monroe.

One of several hanging cairns along the Caps of the Caps Ridge Trail.

Nice photos. Is that first one from Clay?

It's from the ridge between Clay and Washington. You can see the north bump of Clay coming out of the left side of the photo.
