We're climbing the Mt. Cube Trail on Sunday and, as we have done before, will be looking for the "stone chair" that is described in the guide book as being at 2.5 miles. We've never spotted it before. Can anyone tell us what to look for?

It's been a few years, but if I remember correctly, after you come to a pretty flat, ferny section of the trail, near the top, you come to another steep section, maybe 20-25 feet gain in elevation, the chair is on the left facing downhill. I'll look for the picture of my daughter sitting in it tonight.

One of my local favorites when I lived in Hanover! I assume you're coming in from the north, but approaching from the W (Quinttown side, AT northbound, past the shelter) is also very worthwhile. There's fine bushwhacking on that west face too, if you're interested.

I think Rugger's right about the chair, though I'd describe it as "on the right while you're climbing from the north".

An interesting feature. Nice ledges near the summit, too.

Could be on the right. I have a terrible time with left and right - I blame it on being left handed and having my first grade teacher try to change me!

Here is the chair I was talking about.

Also, I understand the confusion on left and right now, I meant: the chair is on your left when climbing, the Chair faces downhill
