Evening call for help, June 4. All's well.

From the North Adams MA Transcript:

Injured hiker rescued from Mt. Greylock

WILLIAMSTOWN -- A Dalton woman was rescued Saturday after she was injured on Mount Greylock, police said.
According to a press release from the Williamstown Police Department, Norman Tedford of Dalton called police at 9:35 p.m. Saturday and said his friend Joann Preen, 52, of Crane Avenue, was injured and unable to descend the mountain.

Sgt. Scott McGowan gathered a rescue team that included police and the department's dog, Blue, and members of the Williamstown and Hancock fire departments, Williamstown and Adams forest wardens and Village Ambulance Service.

Preen was three to four miles from the base of the mountain. Members of the rescue team reached her on the Mount Prospect Trail at about 11:37 p.m. and provided medical attention, according to the press statement.

She was carried to an ambulance and transported to the North Adams Regional Hospital for shoulder and knee injuries. She also was treated for exhaustion. Her injuries were not life-threatening, according to the statement.
