Today I took a spin on the cycle to North Road in Shelburne..seeing Mill Brook Rd. open, I went up a ways and saw a new trail sign for "Mnt. Ingalls" Scudder Trail (the original Mt. Success I think)..that would be about .5 mile up Mill Brook Rd. (second right)..it looks like a vehicle could drive up about .4 to a wood yard and then the trail starts (dark orange blazes like it used to be when I was there about 7 years ago..the new WMG has the trail as abandoned, but it looks like the Shelburne folks are getting those old trails back up and running..see 27th edition for those details, and you could get to the other Cabot from there too..

That's good news. I was up there last year and tried to follow the old Scudder trail from Mill Brook Rd. It was completely obliterated due to the logging, and there were flags and blazes everywhere that I later realized were cut boundary lines and not trails. I followed a "trail" from the Ingalls/Cabot col to the base of Ingall's cliffs, where I finally gave up. The folks at the farm told me they had given up on that trail and were concentrating just on the Cabot and Crow's Nest paths. Maybe they had a change of heart, then.
