Pemi via Mt. Pemi Trail. It feels like more of a mountain than it appears. Trail mostly dry (just a bit of ice up in the conifers,) well blazed, nice views of the Franconia Range through the trees on the way up, 270° views from the open ledges at the top. A number of people today using this climb as their seasonal inauguration. The woods have that feeling to them at this time of year ---- anticipatory, expectant, pregnant even. One can sense that things are going to happen. Buds will break, seeds will pop, leaves will unfurl, ------- I'll begin hiking again!
