Date of Hike: Tue. 01-12-10
Trails: Pine Bend Brook Tr.
The Pine Bend Tr. was well packed up the valley to the base of the steeps. From there up and over the ridge the snow was softer but still a firm base. The bottoms could be bare-booted but snow shoes are recommended for the steeps and the ridge. Snow drifted over the trail between the peaks but not deep. Scaur Ridge tr. was drifted over. The North Slide did not appear to be broken out. Sabbaday Brook tr. looked to be broken out and packed.
Most water crossings were open but easy to get across.
Sunny today with the most wind on the Middle Peak, but not bad.
I didn't see any other hikers out today.
