Hey, Jackson is not named after Andrew, so all of you completed the Presi Traverse in my book! Caongrats!! A friend of mine, Pete Anderson, led a N-S Presi traverse for the Highpointers Club on Friday, September 2nd; they took 18 hours by descending the Crawford Path without Jackson and were delighted. Over 300 folks attended this year's Highpointers Convention at Purity Spring Resort, where Rick Wilcox gave a keynote slide presentation on Saturday evening, September 3rd.

Artex, nice pics and report! It was a blast doing the traverse. The little things made it awesome, like the clouds opening up for the perfect view of Washington while we were between Adams and Jefferson, or the delicious food on Washington (I'm not sure if the food is so incredible, or just that I was starving when we got there), and of course the company. The view from Jackson during sunset was incredible. It was also nice meeting some new people, and of course hiking again with some good friends. I too was exhausted after the trip, and needed to pull over to the side of the road and sleep a few hours before returning to the campsite. Pure exhuastion, after an amazing hike: Presi Traverse 2005, wooo!

Instead of floating my own thread back to the top, I figured I'd just post this here ...

Kevin posted a trip report on summitpost.org. For me, it is very interesting to read the comments of a western climber who is actively working on the Colorado 14ers (41 complete) during his first trip hiking in the White Mountains. He definitely shows respect for our hills.

Way to go Artex! I personally believe that having good looking women on the trip gives one an added incentive, since it makes it more difficult to sit down and cry when things are not going well.
