Nansen Jump Update

HERE is a nice story about the refurbished Nansen Ski Jump and coming events in March.

The Concord Monitor says the jump will be private:

"Hendrickson’s jump is planned for late February, although the date will depend on the weather, and a Red Bull spokesperson said it’s a private event."

It may be private event but there is lot of public property nearby. That's one of reported problems with the jump is that its too close to the road so there is not adequate run off space with the newer technology that skiers are using.

I pulled in there today to make a phone call and there was a tiny jam of vehicles in the area that was plowed. There were some private vehicles along with a truck from Cannon that were working to set up snowmaking. As I pulled out I asked myself how are all the vehicles and people going to fit in here?

Seems they will have to do more work to secure the approach and the stairs. We see people walking on the stairs or the actual deck of the jump every time we drive by it seems. Wonder if they will attempt to keep people off of it, though they never did before to my knowledge.
