National Geographic Adventure magazine bites the dust

Anybody else bummed about this? I can't believe I didn't hear about it sooner, and that something with 625,000 subscribers could shut down so easily....

I'm bummed whenever an outdoorzy magazine stops publishing because another channel of getting new people into what we love to do is gone.

We must be spending too much time on the net and not enough time reading magazines (and newspapers etc).

Me too. I've subscribed to it for many years.

Certainly very sad indeed! I have learned much from that magazine. I will miss it!

I guess I wasn't as surprised when I heard it was shutting down. I couldn't tell for sure what kind of market it was trying for. Wheter it was in competition with Outside magazine, but that's what it reminded me of.
I like a lot of the other things from National Geographic though.

It was similar to Outside, but different enough that it was worth reading both.

Interesting - because I was just charged a renewal in December, at a price higher than I liked. But because it was Adventure, well, I was on the line about cancelling or not. Too bad...now I do want my money back!
