Shakespeare was right, but I'm still tempted to nominate Bayle as the pick of the litter. Wonderful views and you're likely to have the summit ledges to yourself. Fresh blueberries for lunch, right now.
As for Thoreau, as rocket21 notes, his patch will have to be not only posthumous but honorary, since I've found no evidence that he reached even one of these summits. Still, by the time Princeton University Press concludes publication of its first-ever complete edition of his Journal, we may have accounts of an Ossipee ascent or two. (At their present rate, that will take about 30 years, however.)
