Hmm ... that's a pretty mild earthquake, Michael. I suppose slides are possible, particularly if it were of long duration, conditions just right, etc.

Were there any reports of anyone feeling the quake in places like Lincoln/Conway/Bartlett, etc?

Actually I was thinking a slide might have given the impression of an earthquake to the sensors.

That makes me think of an incident a couple of years ago - several of us climbed a peak in the southern Sierra and discovered it had a remote weather station along with an earthquake sensor near the top (remote weather stations/sensors/web cams powered by PV and using satellites for transmission are pretty common in the west). Anyway, several of us went over to where the earthquake sensor was located and jumped up in down in unison for several seconds, hoping we could simulate a tremor. It probably didn't have any effect, but it was alot of fun being silly.

Did anyone feel the quake in Southern NH last night? I didnt feel it but I sure as hell heard it!! A 3.1, centered in Boscowen (borders Concord, Exit 17ish). Happened around 11:30, it sounded like a thunderclap happened just outside my window.

My son called me from Concord where he is attending college at 11:45 and asked me if I felt an earthquake, and I told him to stop calling so late and go to bed. Now I feel bad for not believing him.

I live in Canterbury on the SW corner closest to the epicenter which was under the Merrimack (about 2 miles down) on the Canterbury/Boscawen line. I certainly felt it as I was up watching the football game. My wife shot out of bed from a deep sleep and my son, who had never experienced one came in with his eyes wide and wanted to know what that was. Does anyone know if they were connected (Hancock/Boscawen) on the same fault line(s)?

Very notable 2nd story in downtown Concord, shook house like something heavy hitting roof
