Thanks to Marc for letting me put together the Christmas Edition of
the NH Map Quiz series. He's out breaking trail for / with Mats right
now anyway and will return for the New Year's edition. I ran this
past him and he was able to get 5 or 6 in 10 minutes or so. Some are
easier than others and I encourage more than the usual suspects to
participate!

You are only allowed to answer ONE MAP per every ONE DAY. Choose
wisely which one you do (IE go for the hardest one you know).

You are allowed to say which ones you (think) you know (just the
numbers, not the names, let someone else have them!)

All maps were obtained from NG Topo! 4.0. The only thing in common
between all maps is I have hiked to the prominent feature or features
(may not be a summit) in each map.

Ho-ho-ho Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays (your choice),
Tim

#2 and #8 are obvious due to fire towers, #10 I'll leave for carole

On #4 the peak just off the map to the top has the same highest contour as the ski area summit a mile away but you may need a magnifying glass to see it

#4 is Lake Solitude near Sunapee. One of my favorite hikes.

Thanks for the hint Roy.

2 right so far.

#4 is Lake Solitude
#5 is the Tunnel Brook side of Moosilauke (the summit is in the lower-right corner) The Moose via Benton was my 1st 4K.

#10 is Mt. Morgan and Mt. Percival of the Squam Range.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Be safe!

4 right so far.

#4 is Lake Solitude
#5 is the Tunnel Brook side of Moosilauke (the summit is in the lower-right corner) The Moose via Benton was my 1st 4K.
#6 is Tom and Field (I added Field after stumping Marc on Tom alone...)
#10 is Percival and Morgan

Ho-ho-ho,
Tim

Crotched and North Pack are both correct.

6 right so far.

#8 is Crotched
#9 is North Pack Monadnock
#10 is Percival and Morgan

I liked #6 because there is no elevation written on any contour. Adding Field made it a bit easier to figure out.

2. Kearsarge.

I suddenly remembered this bare topped 3K with the tower on top. One of the NEFF.

Now it's a mess of comm equipment:

I don't think its Kearsarge, because its 2,937 ft. I'm pretty sure I know what it is, but I'll let someone else take a stab, since I accidentally answered two earlier. I've hiked this mtn 4 times in the last year. :)

Grouseking is right, it isn't Kearsarge.

(I guess since technically it's a new day I could just answer this one but I'll let someone else run with it.)

Are hints frowned upon in this game? :)

OK #2 is Cardigan. Turns out I climbed them the same day. And thanks guys (grousking and Tdawg) for giving me a chance for a "do-over".

Also has comm equipment. (Not as much), also a rare bare topped peak. It was my birthday, October 12, 2003.

That's correct.

7 right so far (in parens is a good reason why I chose it for the quiz)

#1 is __________ (a popular family hike)
#2 is Cardigan (my daughter's first 3K, first father-daughter hike)
#3 is __________ (a popular family hike)
#4 is Lake Solitude (an early date hike with my wife who is from Sunapee)
#5 is the Tunnel Brook side of Moosilauke -- the summit is in the lower-right corner. (The Moose via Benton was my 1st 4K.)
#6 is Tom and Field (I added Field after stumping Marc on Tom alone...) (FOT48 2007 (Field))
#7 is __________ (my favorite list peak, so far)
#8 is Crotched (a popular family hike)
#9 is North Pack Monadnock (a popular family hike)
#10 is Percival and Morgan (a popular hike with my wife)

#7 is probably the most well-known of the remaining three. From shortest to tallest they go: 3, 1, 7.

Ya beat me to it Bigmoose!! My last NH 4k, and top five in terms of favorites. The 40 foot contours threw me off a bit on this one.
