Spent the last week in the Whites, yes the weather was great.

I've noticed a peak in the last two years looking into the Pemi (southeastern area) looking like a steep anthill.
From Mt. Field it seemed about SSW. From the Kanc, it was about NNE.
It may have been only in 3000 foot height. Very much cone shaped, but rounded too.

I know there are a ton of knowledgable VFTTers that know what it is.

There was a book in the visitor centers that showed the peaks as viewed from a distance, but naturally I couldn't find the answer in a quick thumb through.

Thanks for the info.

Correction made: the peak was in the southeastern section of the Pemi. Sorry. (Daahhhhh)

When I'm not sure what peak I'm looking at, I usually look at a map to figure it out. If you can pinpoint it on a map, I bet I can tell you what its name is...

Thanks for the info. It's kind of stupid, I should have took a pic and used the compass. That way as albee mentioned I would have had located it easily on the many maps I have.

Waumbek, your pic, 1/3 from left looks like it.

Right now I'm in the remedial mountain id stages in the Whites and right now the Pemi is still a great unknown.

Thanks again.
