Will be hiking Moosilauke in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions on an affordable (warmth, clean sheets and towels and hotwater are my only requirements) place to stay in or near Plymouth? I would prefer a drive of 20 minutes or less.

Oh, and if you can, please send some snow our way......... :p
Thanks.......Jade

Jade--if you're hiking Moosilauke and want to be within 20 minutes, you need to be further north than Plymouth. N. Woodstock and Franconia are better bets. You could try Pinestead Lodge in Franconia on Rt. 116. (It's right near the Mount Kinsman Trail trailhead.) The price is right. To get to the Ravine Lodge from Pinestead, you'd head down (south) on 116, left on 112 (Kanc) and right on Sawyer Hiway (fergit the number) to the lodge road. About 25 mins. I'd guess. If you're using the Beaver Brook trailhead on 112, it would be about 13 miles or so, 15 mins.

Pinestead Farm Lodge
Route 116
Franconia 03580
603-823-8121
Old Family farmhouse serving guests since 1899. Simple, clean rooms with a Pinestead Quilt on each bed. Rent rooms with a shared kitchen and bath or as a holiday apartment. Farm animals, child's play area. $19-$25 p.p.d.o., no single rates.

I'll see what I can do about the snow. I put the studded snows on this weekend if that helps.
