Thanks to BIGEarl for sending me a photo that confirms what I feared. I was indeed at the old summit. Oh well... off to bag the true summit on Wed I go!

If we get a high pressure system this coming Saturday, I plan to make some more differential altitude measurements along the ridge between the two summits using my surveying altimeter. If the barometric pressure appears to be unstable, I will not bring the altimeter this time, as it is quite heavy.
