Once up the trail about a half mile started to hit some more snow and ice , but managed with out snow shoes until past the blow downs , then the were worn for the rest of the hike over Panther to Giant Ledge and the return.Once above 2600 ' the snow levels are over a foot. On 12 -14-14 the Catskill 3500 club broke trail to Panther, but since then more snow and ice had fallen. I broke out the trail again where the powder had drifted, but they did most of the real breaking out-thanks !!!. Some branches had fallen on the trail from the mid -week storm,I cleared what I could. A couple of folks came up from rt. 47 and said that they had cleared some as well.I met them near Panther's summit and again on G.L.. The trail is broken out from rt. 47 also.Wednesday's storm will change conditions again and here are a few pictures from this hike I did solo.About 13 miles r.t.and 3800 ft. vertical round trip.
