With Augie on Carrigan
I'm thinking about hiking Passaconaway with the Augster next month and would be interested in hearing people's thoughts on going up Dicey's Mill versus Oliverian Brook, Passaconaway cutoff, etc.

I'm particularly interested in input from other dog owners, knowing which option is generally less crowded, and which has better access to water (I will carry everything the dog and I need to drink - I ask because Augie enjoys wading).

6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of the other

I have taken dog (65lb golden) on both routes. Both have water along most of the trail so swimming and drinking were not really issues. There are a number of water crossings (tiny) for the dog to get a drink along both routes. Square Ledge Trail (to get to Passaconaway and Oliverian) is steeper, but not dangerous or difficult for the dog. A side trip to Square Ledge is easier from the Oliverian side and overall the views are more varied from the North side.

Either way have fun
