Hey all,
I'm a huge fan of Patagonia baselayers for cold-weather sports and work (I do solar energy installations year-round in ME and NH). Right now through the 9th, they are having a 50% off sale.
I don't really have a preference between Capilene and wool - both wick sweat well and dry really quickly. I've never used the 4-weight stuff, but you can't go wrong with weights 1 or 2 as a base layer and 3-weight as a base or 2nd layer.
Here's the link: http://www.patagonia.com/us/shop/web-specials-baselayer?sssdmh=dm23.143725&k=6M-ga&src=010612_mi1
Peace
