Great accomplishment and nice report. The chafing comments made me cringe. I had that problem on just a 12-mile hike last week, can't imagine how I would make it through 32 miles.

Nice job in that weather...wet slabs--very bad!!!:(

love the pics...

Glad you made it and in good time!!

ohh yea, trying to be cool and go up the class 3 scramble on wet rock - not smart on a wet day - its funny now, but I took a good 15 foot slide as rebecca describes that could have easily snapped my ankle - and was completely avoidable...since it was "off trail"..... that was just dumb.. plain and simple...

I would do it again (dry day), but plenty of other things to do and see...

Was that on that tough scramble after bondcliff?

Nice job with the hike and all. But what happened to your stamina? You guys used to be able to party.

Giggy, stop giving NH weather a bad name.

Totally 'HOUAH' kids!

Too bad I had to work on Saturday, I could have cheered you on!

I did a Pemi loop once, but it took me 4 days...

I did however enjoy every minute of it!

Sounds like you all did also!

Congrats!

Successful stories of these great Pemi Loop adventures strike a chord with all hikes of any stature..it can be done even in lest than perfect weather,,good thing huh??;..Great job and pictures to this group who seemed to have the zen going....excellent

i'm chafing at the bit abit to make the move to complete this pemi thing myself..at some point the sun the stars and the moon will be properly allighned and then i will know..that it is time to go

I did this bit years ago with heavy packs and 2 nites camping..these days it makes more sense to me to to these hikes light and fast as a traverse and make it a long exciting day..

nice job everybody..excellent achievement

Nice job.

Re: chafing, have you tried Body Glide? I haven't had a significant problem with chafing since I discovered the stuff.

Nice job.

actually, I have always had good luck with simple vaseline. Thats has always done the trick and always have a tube with me... It worked for about 2/3 of the hike and then even that stopped working...

Honestly, it think it was just so wet, it was going to happen.... your talking a oppressive humid day with rain showers - normally, with showers, the hiking would dry things out some when rain stops... the humidity didn't allow this...and then the final downpours just drenched us...

like i said - wet from the gate - 32 miles.... I mean it is what it is... we all got it to some extent... I have done some long hikes, backpacks before and this was the first chaffing for me to this extreme...

I am actually giving body glide a shot next tho. it won't be worse.. :)

Shake n' Bake - great job guys!

Have you tried to place slugs in strategic locations when the vaseline runs out? They produce a natural non-petroleum based substance which is really slimy and probably would work well....and those guys are everywhere!

and since they move around slowly, you'd get nearly 100% coverage in a few hours by using only a small amount of slugs. more slime and less slug harvesting time.

I'm still a little unclear on this chaffing issue.
Sounds like mother nature gave you guys a spanking. Thank goodness you guys like to be spanked. :)
Nicely Done
