Speaking of which, a hat tip to John Gutowski ( who, judging from his Facebook avatar, is no stranger to Entertaining Diversions In The Peaks) for coining the term "Pemilympians", which I promptly appropriated for the Official Pemilympic Patch:

Cold River: We haven't tested for any substances yet. We will have to see if public pressure mounts ( or if the Freaks get freakier).

Mats: For the Javelin throw, there are no hard and fast rules, just guidelines:
The pole should be a thoroughly beat up and despised Leki that collapses just when you need it, then refuses to lock up at all. Heaving it a good distance at that point becomes second nature.
