adamiata: the beauty of a mid to late June Traverse attempt is lots of available daylight. Although hiking under headlamp is awesome, you certainly do not hike at the speed that you can in daylight. September's shorter days will leave you hiking for nearly 3 more hours on September 16th (~12.25 daylight hours) than June 16th (~15.1 daylight hours) would, so figure it would take an additional hour or 2, having you hiking in more darkness.
I've wanted to do this for a long time, and the weekend before or after the first day of summer was always when I planned to do it.
