An Amazing Day in the Range

What a super day for a traverse. Many thanks to Unfrozen Caveman for the invite to do this on such a spectacular day, with the range wearing a brilliant coat of snow, ice, and rime that glistened from moonset to moonrise.

And congrats to Steve on his 29th (?) winter peak of the season!

I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Oh, sweet irony. What is the chances that this Saturday was a perfect clear near zero wind day after the discussion earlier.:) When I saw the forecast I was thinking about driving the 4.5 hours over myself.

Gulp! Simply stunning photos!

Some of your photos (e.g. “Summiting Mount Madison”) almost look like they could have been taken ON the lunar surface!

Great job Tim, as always!

Steve & Tim, Great job. It sounds like we were on Madison when you were on Washington. We thought we saw that smile from UFC's face shining over!! :D

Pictures are amazing!! I was envious I couldn't go with you! But we had a great hike too!! :)

Steve you're a machine right now...keep it going!!

Sweet! Makes me want to do another pressie traverse! I'll never finish my NH48 this way though :D

Stunning pictures. Simply stunning... I am in awe. Congratulations to you both.

We waved to you from Franconia Ridge. Did you see us? :D

Tim, give it awhile and post that last picture from Eisenhower looking back at Washington and ask "whats wrong with this picture?" I expect a lot of folks will assume its the sun in the photo and wonder why the sun is coming up behind Washington:D

something missing??

a couple things missing on your hike...

Ok so I need to elaborate on this a little but between hiking and trying to sell enough to support my two addictions (hiking and FOOD!!!) I've been pretty slammed.....

I will say that all the pieces definitely came together for an incredible day - thanks Tim for joining me on this, it was certainly one to remember!

My highlights:
- Cath telling me that I was doing the right thing watching the weather and to just keep an eye on it - nice to have confirmation from experience ;)
- The fact that the weather did what it was supposed to do! :)
- Tim agreeing to accompany me on the journey
- Getting a text message from a friend at 1:31 a.m. - calling her back and when she asked, "What are you doing still up" being able to respond, "I just got up to go hiking." and laugh at the insanity of that. :p
- The sun coming up illuminating the "Whites" against the "blue". :)
- The moon coming up. :)
- Finishing!!! :D

In summation - KICKER DAY!!!

Thanks for sharing the amazing images. It must have been
completley amazing in that weather!!!!
Congrats.
