Google tells me the road to Breadloaf Trailhead (the Natural Turnpike -!) might be close during winter, can anyone tell me if that will be the case this weekend ? How about the northern approach ?

How's the road condition, is it drivable with a non 4X4 car ?

Thanks !

Back in May it was driveable in a Focus; the overall condition is good but seasonal condition may not be. Winter closure from the south is (IIRC) at the junction of Steam Mill Rd. and Natural Turnpike, from the north it's at the turnoff for FR201 (which is itself closed, and goes to the Emily Proctor TH.)

I don't know if they ever gate it; the entire length is used as a snowmobile trail so the closure is mostly a matter of not plowed. Last time I called GMNF to check on conditions they didn't know and I got a lot of "probably" and "I'd think so"; sounds like they don't control it.

Lincoln Gap road was closed when I drove through Warren last week.
