WMUR had a bit more info this evening. These were all skiing related accidents, the FS employee interviewed said it was icy conditions and he witnessed several major falls. The deceased skiers companion also fell and is in serious condition. The other fall was a separate incident.

Any idea where in the ravine this occurred? Was it in Lobster Claw gully or another chute? Or on the head wall?
Conway Daily reported that they were not sure exactly where she fell from but they think somewhere from The Lip and landed on the right side floor of The Ravine. The other two rescued had been hit from falling rock and ice.

More about the fatality. My dad, formerly of NH and now a resident of PA, sent this - the victim was from Pennsylvania, so it made the news down there.

This includes a link to a Facebook post by her UVM ROTC unit, with three photos of her, in uniform, climbing, and skiing:

"For the month of April we will be highlighting Cadets who stand out athletically. Our first Cadet is MSII Madie Saltsburg who is our highest ranking female for the ACFT. Madie majors in Landscape Design. In her free time she is participates in UVM Reformed University Fellowship. She is also a Green Mountain Battalion Mountaineering Club officer. She has been on Ranger Challenge for two years. Madie also enjoys hiking, climbing, and camping.
Madie decided to join ROTC for new life experiences and for the leadership opportunities."

“In addition to her studies, Madie was a star in UVM’s Army ROTC program, known for her athleticism and dedicated mentorship to her fellow cadets. She was a passionate outdoors person and leader of the Green Mountain Battalion Mountaineering Club, serving as president during her sophomore year,” said Erica Caloiero, the vice provost for student affairs.

What a loss. My condolences to her family and friends.
