T-storms, flash flooding, and high winds are possible for the rest of NH and for western Maine as well. Yesterday there were lightning strikes in the Lakes region and elsewhere. It is extremely humid again this morning. This statement was issued at 4 a.m. by the National Weather Service:

"... Severe thunderstorms are again possible in New Hampshire and
western Maine this afternoon...

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has determined
that there is a possibility of severe weather over all of New
Hampshire and western Maine except the coasts this afternoon and
evening.

Warm and humid air will react to a series of passing disturbances to
support this activity. There is the potential for these storms to
produce some large hail but the more serious threat will be for
strong wind gusts and flooding rains.

Continue to monitor later forecasts for possible severe thunderstorm
information."

t-storms

i was up at pinkham this past weekend and the storms came early afternoon with lots of rain---lasting maybe and hour and then blue skys ...still very humid!

Guess I should have read this BEFORE my hike on Sat. I got soaked for about an hour.. It was nice to cool off in this humidity.

Everything held off on the north side of Franconia Notch, but after SJ & Sarah's the drive home down 93 was through some *tremendous* downpours. The temperatures dropped over 10 degrees.

Of course, as I approached Mass the storms vanished, the clouds went away (but not the haze), and the temps went back up into the 80's. Ugh.
