I thought about buying a pair, but decided on BC skis instead. Looking at the prices, a ski and binding combo costs new about as much as some tele gear. I've seen used ones on eBay.

Good point.

If I were to do this over again and could only spend on one thing it would be BC skis before skiboards.

But I got skiboards many years ago after I got sick of lugging big ski's around. They don't seem to age as much as ski's. I still enjoy riding them. If I could find hiking shoes that would accept the bindings I would be in heaven going down in deep snow next to the trail. Skiboards are great in deep snow and in tight quarters.
