I'm working on the video now.

Looks wicked fun!!! I'm amazed with that amount of snow...and shorts!

Anyway, probably won't be doing any of this any time soon. Heck, I fall over just cross country skiing!!

Beautiful photos!
Just bought a telemark set-up. Once I get reasonably decent, I'll be out there too! (Next year)
Sandy

Sweet! This year just wasn't my year to get into the backcountry on skiis....maybe next year (definately....yes, next year!!)

Awesome pics! Where's that narrow slope with the long run out??

Jungle Boogie...nah that's gotta be Kilimanjaro not NH. Great Pics as usual. When are you going to Monroe Brook?

Yum!

That slide looks absolutely scrumptious.

How do you think that would ride with downhill skis?

Pretty much the same as with AT skis, lots of those folks been up there the past few weeks. Alpine gear just seems awful heavy to carry up there when you can skin instead.

Awesome photos Dave! Did you split your board yourself or get a premade one? Either way, looks good. How does the split affect the flex?

That's not me on the splitter - I tele. I could be insulted but I prefer to chalk it up to ignorance. :p :D

Steve's board is a purchased one, a Voile Mojo that he rides with mountaineering boots. He used to have one he converted himself but it eventually died from delam. The splitters have more flex then a solid board, but it's not that bad from what I understand.

Sorry Dave. I pro'lly should have figured that out from that guy being in the pictures that you took. I was just excited about the splitboard amidst all those two plankers.

My current board was $55 shipped (god I love ebay) and I'm half considering splitting it. Worst case scenario: I mess it up and then I'm out half the price of a good pair of running shoes. Best case scenario: no more lift tickets! :D

The skins for your splitter, and the bindings, will set you back a lot more than that.

I already have a fully mounted board, so I'd be investing in three areas:
Voile Split Decision Kit - $130-160
Voile SplitBoard Climbing Skins - $150
Labor - I'm cheap, so $8/hour

Even with the student discount, a season pass for Sugarloaf, Loon, and Sunday River is $330, so the Voile components and six hours of labor would put me at the break even point. And I would continue saving next year, and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that and the year after that... Arrrrrrg! This is making me want to cut my snowboard in half right now!!
