Between bushwhacking and slide climbing, when it comes to views, slide climbing wins - hands down (pun intended).

Here are some pics of a trio of slides that are visible just to the left of the Dix Blue trail.
 
Sweet pics, looks like a great climb. Thanks for sharing a visual of the experience. Are those special fancy schmancy sticky gloves of some sort? And are those trail runners on your feet or something more flexible? Just curious.
 
Great pics, you really captured the feeling of wandering about on slabby slides. Including, especially, the green-in-the-face feeling at times.

One guy wore batting gloves and the other wore mechanic's gloves. I wore nothing. The rock can be quite abrasive and your fingertips can get pretty chewed up.

I always wear Guide 5.10 approach shoes because the sole is much stickier than runners or boots. The others wore trail runners.
