Smoke over the whites from Canadian Fires

Its been a hazy day all day up north , reportedly smoke from large western Canadian fires are getting caught in the jetstream. My normally clear view of Madison and Jefferson is decidedly hazy. I havent been outside enough today to see if there is smoky smell.

It was very hazy in Manch Vegas all day as well.

It's bad over most of the country right now. Not good for breathing if the smoke reaches the ground (and bad to devastating to astrophotography...)

Definitely a hazy sun yesterday here in Rhode Island.

I did go out last evening prior to front coming through and the odor was a distinct " eau de dumpster fire". Generally a wildfire is not ideal combustion and they vent off large volumes of CO and uncombusted volatiles along with particulate. It generally reminds me of a burn barrel fire versus a clean fire with dry wood.
