Snow in the Whites overnight 4/29/05

Mt. Washington got an inch of new snow last night. The snow line on the Kinsman range is down to about 3000' this morning. Can't see Lafayette yet. It's never over 'til it's over.

I got a glimpse of the fresh coat on Mt Washington this afternoon from Bear Notch Road, until the clouds swallowed the summit. I'm hoping to photogragh it with some nice red maple buds in the foreground on my hike tomorrow.

Wash. was fabulous yesterday. I saw it about 4 p.m. Yes, I thought to myself yesterday that the hillsides look almost like autumn with the red buds. Green is traditionally the spring color but around here, red comes first.

I was up at gray knob last week, it received ~4 inches in the thursday night storm.
