Hello fellowhikers:

Gail & I are hiking Ellen & Abraham off Lincoln trail in Vermont this coming Sat. Anybody knows if we'll need our snowshoes or we can handle this hike just with crampons at this time of the year?

Thank's for your help

i dont think you will need the shoes, we have only gotten dustings here in burlington. Bristol was supposed to get up to 6" last night but not sure if that happened, even if it did, not enough for the shoes. i would say throw them in the car and decide at the trail head!
wish i could go, but its stowe opening day, woohooo :D
oh yeah, it has been unseasonably cold here as you know!
have fun

Snowshoes not needed, probably

Agree with Mookie, I live at the base of Ellen and unless we get significant snow in the next couple of days (keep your eye on the weather), I can't imagine you'd have any trouble barebooting, though gators might be a good thing.
Enjoy!
John
