any thoughts on a good easy/moderate hike in/near the Southern Whites? I'm going for a nice walk in the woods w/ perhaps some views, & where snow/ice is less of an issue in the near future than one of the 4Ks. Something in the 4-7 mi, <2000ft el gain range.

Hedgehog
Potash
Paugus
Shaw (in Ossipee)
Tremont
Wonalancet

(I've hiked Hedgehog & Potash before, both had good views but otherwise unexceptional. Am leaning towards either Hedgehog or Wonalancet. Welch/Dickey & S/Middle Moat are not on my list for various reasons)

Wonalancet

I hiked Wonalancet in August, there is a steep ledgeto go up as you near the summit which would be very, very difficult if there is any snow or ice. Just before the steep accent to the summit, you can turn right and hike to an overlook which is pretty good.

Might I suggest the Morgan / Percival loop.. Great views of Squam and Winnipesaukee (Spelling)..
