I was following a link from a different thread, spotted a link about barefoot running at the bottom of the page, and found the stuff that I linked in my previous post.

So stumbled is the right word. (The prepared mind can often gain from lucky accidents...)

So are you going to make a pair?

I still have two pairs of Chacos to wear out first. And Chacos are pretty sturdy...
