Hi there, i'm going up to hike these 2 peaks sunday (7/24) and was wondering if they still have signs at the summit like most other peaks in the adirondacks do.
let me know what you know

Chazz,

I believe neither summit has a sign. I cannot remember which summit but one of them has a red marker disk about 10 feet or so up in a tree with the name marked on it. Sorry I cannot give you more info but maybe someone else can. Enjoy thee 2 lesser traveled peaks.

Nye's summit, at least as of last October, is noted by a red trail marker with "Nye Mt" inked onto it, about eight feet up a tree. I didn't see anything marking the Street summit that same day, but the mist was pretty thick. I asked about that later somewhere else on this forum, and someone replied that there is indeed a sign, quite high up a tree atop Street.

Happy trails --

Summit Signs

Street and Nye, at least as of July 7, both had two summit signs each. On Street they are high up. You will know when you are on top. There is a tree with a lot of scarring on the bark, where the old signs were. Look up.

On Nye two trees are marked. Again, you will know when you are there, the top is obvious, and the signs are up a little higher to keep the vandals from lifting them (or maybe they were just put up again when the snow was 8 feet deep).

I think you are referring to the tree everyone climbed to get a view. I have a pic somewhere of a couple of guys in that tree.
