Recently got a hold of a camping/hiking photo album (circa 1978) I hadn't seen in decades.

Stopped at this gas station in Greenville, Maine, on the way to Ripogenus Dam and then Gulf Hagas as well as other stops.
Note the "Regular" and "Unleaded" gas pumps, and the "Game Inspection Station" sign.

Hiking in the northern Presidential Range wearing my first overnight pack...a canvas laundry bag strapped around my shoulders with blue rope.
We were camped at Dolly Copp and the adults decided we would spend the night above treeline somewhere on Madison or Adams. No tents, just
find some flat enough places on the boulders to sleep. I'm told (I don't remember any of it) we were chased back to Dolly Copp in the early evening by a bad storm.

Please feel free to add some of your very old hiking photos.

Tower of Power? One of my favorite bands from that era. Saw them in person in the mid 80's in a small venue. Great show.

Good stuff. Love the denim and tee shirts. Just goes to show you. I need to find some of my old pics, though I don't remember many. I may end up taking new pics of some of my old gear.

Got a closet full, but here is one I have handy. It was used to advertise the 1966 AMC Guidebook and is of my brother and me with my parents and dog Tay and taken in the early 60s.
