I don't know if this meets your requirements as the "All Time Best" but it's worked pretty well for me. Only had one prior and it was glass and of coarse, I broke it.
Using the boiling water trick for 15 minutes has kept the beverage quite warm, not sure I can use the word HOT, for quite a long time. It doesn't show it the photo but mine also came with a nylon bag which adds to the insulation.

Joe - to clarify - is the Chinook vacuum flask in your links the one that broke because it was glass? Or is the Chinook the replacement after your glass model broke? Thx.
