How busy is a place like Guyot shelter on a Sept. weekend like the one coming up?

Availability

I think that most if not all of the college freshman orientation trips are over, so the groups of ten shouldn't be a problem as they have been in the last few weeks. However, I would try to arrive noonish if possible. There are plenty of overflow sites up on the ridge above the Guyot Shelter/platforms and many people like them but you must hike down to the shelter to obtain water. The nice weather predicted for this weekend will pull people into the woods, but not to worry.

I agree with the above post... the weather sounds good - excellent.
No moaning and groaning if you share the site or overflow with many dozens of other like minded hikers seeking (crowds??) ;)

Last Thursday and Friday, without any college groups, the Guyot campsite was remarkably "well-attended." There were only 3 or 4 empty tent platforms, but there were only 4 of us in the shelter. My guess is there were more people on the weekend.

I'd bring a tent.

Just took the day off...

Thanks for the replies...just bagged on work for Friday so I can take it a bit slower...I just can't get there, leaving from Providence, RI, by noon on Saturday.
