Tolland State Forest/Berkshires

Got a request for a friend looking for camping options in the Berkshires to include mountain biking and kayaking. A quick google search yeilded Tolland State Forest, on the Otis Reservoir in Mass.

Anybody ever been there?

What are some other recommendations in the Berkshire Region??

Not quite the Berkshires, a little south of there, more like the Taconics. But Macedonia Brook State Park in Kent, CT offers some great road biking and kayaking on the Housatonic near Bulls Bridge. The campground is pretty nice too with some great secluded sites on the river.

Though the campground itself is in Franklin County, park of Mohawk Trail State Forest is located in Berkshire County. It's only a few minutes from Zoar Gap, as well as Hawley State Forest (a popular mountain biking destination). Neat area, not quite as busy as some of the more popular Berkshire County destinations. Located just off Route 2 in Charlemont.

Most of the state CG's are booked pretty solid, but CA usually has sites.

Just to clarify, Country Aire is in Charlemont, about halfway between Shelburne Falls and Charlemont village.
