Trails known to be covered by avalanche?

Thanks, whitelief. That's a rare one for me -- I've never seen a Green Mountains advisory posted before. (Has anyone else?) That should help alert folks that it's not just the Presis that have avalanche terrain. Those granitic "slides" that everyone is so fond of skiing have a potentially deadly double entendre in their name.

When I was checking road condition on the VT DOT site last evening I noticed that a snow slide had closed the highway near West Burke, VT. Slides aren't that common in VT, but they do happen. I recall a similar one several years ago that closed the highway for a time in Northfield Gulf (a gulf in VT is what a notch is in NH).
