Wondering what the most common route up the Tripyramids in winter is? Looking to possibly head out there this Sunday.

Pine Bend from the Kanc probably gets the most traffic, followed closely by the Livermore/Scaur Ridge approach from Waterville Valley.

I agree with Larisa.

One thing to be aware of is that the Pine Bend route slabs along a countour before going left and up a valley (maybe a real old slide route) before cresting a rdige and meeting up with a trail from the watervile valley side (dont have a map in hand). The actual trail goes to the left of the valley into a thick spruce stand then parallels the open area, frequently the winter trail runs directly up the valley to the ridge and skips the woods. From there its a short run through open woods to the actual trail with the junction soon after.

We just did the Tripyramids yesterday (as an out and back)from Waterville Valley via the Livermore Road and Scaur Ridge Trail. Photos and GPS track on Wikiloc. We did a terrible job of breaking out the trail on the way in. I am hopeful we did a better job on the way out. :D
