Today I guided a YL from VA on a nice loop from AMC Pinkham across the Diretissma, up Glen Boulder trail to Boote Spur then over to the Alpine Garden and then down Lion's Head back to Pinkham. Everything was in wonderful shape but they still have the trail down Tuckerman's Ravine closed due to ice and snow. The YL has spent some weeks as a volunteer working at Yosemite and Yellowstone, and yet she is pretty impressed by our little Whites. She kept saying..."where are your switchbacks", "this trail was laid out for goats". Gonna try and get her into the Northern Presis next, then Franconia Ridge.

Yup...

My 19 YO daughter (not a particularly fit hiker) is in Yosemite right now having been in Redwoods and other western parks past few days. Last night she called and after desfribing some incredibly beautiful hikes, said "these trails are waaay E-Z!" (compared to Whites) :D
