I have a replica Mt. Rainier benchmark of pewter. I have to say that after a few days the newness wore off, and now I am in Wu's camp.

Same happened here with the 1600' pewtered lizard perched on a 40' tall copper replica of Momar Khadafi that's sitting in my backyard. It didn't take too long to realize that it's useless but also immovable (and unsellable) as well. After that I said NO to Christmas Gifts from family.

Yes, I did get 2 as a birthday present recently, and I use them as coasters. One at work, one at home. And I love them, Laurie! .

They have a convex top surface. How do you use tham as coasters? Set them in epoxy?

Thinking out loud here. I could take impressions of these things with dental impression material. Pour them up in plaster or epoxy and make a coaster collection.
