I don't get the "clammy wet" feeling people claim happens in a VB sock. I don't know how much warmth a VB liner adds since, technically, your entire boot is a vapor barrier so all the vb sock does is keep the vapor closer to your skin. I like the VB because it keeps my sock and boot liner dry. I don't have to put my liners in my bag at night. Also the liners take a long time to dry out so if you're on a multi day trip, that water is going to keep adding up in the boot. I had some liners in my apartment after an overnight trip. It took around 5 days for them to dry out.
