Veteran NHF&G SAR Conservation Officer dies in motorcycle accident

Perhaps you knew Sgt. Brian Abrams or ran into him on the trails. He was part of the original NHF&G SAR TEAM.
He was a highly dedicated officer and spent his life helping others in the outdoors.

"He was a recipient of the Life Saving award in 2003 after hiking eight miles in high winds, deep snow at night in temperatures reaching -34 degrees to rescue a missing man suffering from hypothermia. "

I thought that I should mention this. I saw his passing in the paper and remember him as someone who also saved the life of a neighbor of mine. A big loss to the community at large. My neighbor lost his legs to frostbite and he would have certainly perished if it wasn't for the efforts of Brian and his partner.
