I've seen this same bear feeding on apples and mountain ash and rooting for grubs on our field every second or third night for the last two weeks or so. He comes around 7 p.m., a hard time to photo given the low light, feeds for about 20 minutes, and then saunters off along the same route. I stay well clear of him, of course, and try not to let him see or smell me; I don't want to desensitize him to human presence during hunting season. I heard the bear dogs that hunters use out back the other day and thought they'd treed or cornered him. But he showed up again that night on the field. A few pics from the last two weeks:
