I herd that there was a water source just after plateau on your way to sugarloaf. Is this true and is it obvious. WIll need extra water if this heat continues this weekend, and dont want to have to take extra if i dont have to. Would rather pump some on top.

I just wrote this up in another thread, ( http://vftt.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7068), but yes, there is water still flowing out of a spring about 3/4 of the way down from Plateau, heading East towards the Sugarloaf/Plateau saddle. (There is a leanto at the saddle, but we did not see water there).

You can't miss the water, it flows right across the trail.

The source Tom identified is the easiest to get to, since it's right on the trail. If it's not running when you are there, you can find water in the saddle between Plateau and Sugarloaf by heading north on the unmarked trail near the leanto. This involves a bit of a detour off the Devils Path-maybe 1/10 to 1/4 mile and a descent and climb back up to the Path. I think this is a larger, more reliable source, but just a bit out of the way.

The unmarked road lead towards Mink Hollow Road and is running the last time I was there in April. It is a short bit off the trail though. And if that isn't running, and it's some emergency, if you walk further than the 'w' indicates on the TC map, you do eventually cross a nice stream before you hit Mink Hollow Road.

Yup. I saw that water source not last weekend but the weekend before. It was flowing pretty good then.

It was still flowing pretty well Saturday, BEFORE all the rain we got...
