Steve Smith's recent post: Greeley Ponds Trail and Davis Boulder inspired me to explore the area on Tuesday with no fixed plan. I ended up doing an out and back along the Greeley Ponds Trail to the site of the washed out bridge, then heading up Livermore Road with no clear destination. I found the Kettles Path well broken, and had noted that the Scaur Trail was well broken, and the stream crossing solidly bridged. So I did the loop, going to The Scaur for the first time.

Yesterday I returned to take a few more pictures.

Read all about it: Waterville Valley Rambles, March 6-7 2012!

My first blog post since August 2010, hope to keep it up this year.

Looks like you had a nice day! Mount Tecumseh has become so familiar after many years of never getting there to ski (collegiate skiing took care of that) and, certainly we should put Mount Osceola on an upcoming trip -- it's one I've thought would be nice. That is a nice view of the entire ridge.

The crossing was clearly doable, but I found it unappealing ... I dislike sketchy stream crossings ... so I turned around.
I'm on the floor laughing... part of the reason I read your TR!! G4.5 :D
